Did you know that Scouts is a great place for adults to volunteer? Volunteering through Scouts not only benefits young people but adults as well by providing increased social interactions, mental stimulation, and training. Did you also know you do not have to of been a youth member or to be a parent of a youth member to start your volunteer journey?
Following the continued growth of youth members at 16th Wigan we are looking to increase our adult volunteers. Adult volunteers can take on a wide range of roles and tasks both working directly with young people and supporting those that do by managing equipment, raising funds, managing the finances, and many others. Recent changes to the way roles in Scouting work mean that many roles and tasks can be shared amongst volunteers. This means it can be even more flexible and suitable to many different lifestyles.
To match skills and preferences with tasks and roles 16th Wigan have developed their adult volunteer survey. If you are interested in helping 16th Wigan further increase their presence in the local community and their work with local young people please complete the survey here.
Following Easter, there will be follow-up meetings with those you have responded to go over the roles and tasks.
