Happy new year. I hope everyone had a wonderful time and are looking forward to be back at scouts for what is looking like another exciting term.As new year is also a time of reflection I would like to thank everyone for their support last year. We have really achieved a lot with camps, trips, training and more. Looking ahead there is more exciting activities planned for all sections.

27th January – Free Mental health workshop for parents/ carers ran by Wigan Warriors – 7.30 till 8.30 at St Paul’s.

Clothing
We have received our first order of clothing from our suppliers. The next order will be placed on 1st April. Check out our website for the full range. New items may be added between now and then.
If you have old uniform or group clothing in a good condition please see a leader. We will be looking to put these back on our online shop so they can be reloved.
Squirrels
We have been doing a lot of work in the background and pleased we have been accepted to open a Squirrel Drey for young people aged 4 to 6. Our next step is to run 4 taster sessions starting on the 26th February from 5pm to 6pm. More details will follow and how to sign up. Places will be limited.
We are still needing volunteers to help run the section on a full time basis. If you can help please contact gsl@16thwiganscouts.co.uk
Fundraising
Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas Community Social. It was a fantastic evening and thank you to Santa for making an appearance.
We would like to hold more evenings and events like this to spread our community wider but we need help. We would like to start a small fundraising/ supporter sub group who would help to organise some events throughout the year to support the group. This is a very flexible and social way to support the group and help our young people do even more. If you are interested in being part of this please contact gsl@16thwiganscouts.co.uk and we will look to arrange a first meeting.
