Squirrel Team Member (Leader)

Role summary
Bringing the ‘Wow!’ to our youngest Scouts, in a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment, the Section Teams make it happen for our Squirrels.

Description
Wanted: Natural smilers, panic-free adapters and easy encouragers. In the Squirrels Section Team, you’ll be making our 4-6 year olds’ eyes light up with wonder on a regular basis. We’re talking get-down-to-their-eyeline talkers and ‘let’s-discover-the World-together’ co-adventurers. Sound like you? You’ll be passing on skills for life to our youngest Section, while mentoring, making sure the environment’s safe and keeping everything behind the scenes ticking over. Never been a Scout before? Neither have the Squirrels! Trust us, it’s never too late to get involved in the fun!

Group Chair of Trustees

Could you lead our Trustee Boad and play a major part behind the scenes?

  • Plan when Trustee Board meetings should take place, and decide what to talk about at each meeting.
  • Lead Trustee Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • Liaise with Lead Volunteers.
  • Lead recruitment for new Trustees.
  • Support other Trustees by organising inductions, making reasonable adjustments (where needed), checking in to
see how they’re getting on, and carrying out annual reviews.

Beaver Team Member (Leader)

Role summary
At the beating heart of our programme, our Beavers Team Members break the mould and create bold environments for their Beaver Colonies to grow, play and explore.

Description
Gingerbread baker? Den-maker? Whatever your skills, we want you to join the adventure and help our eager six to eight year old Beavers gain skills for life. One session you might be exploring the great outdoors. And the next? Learning new things right on your doorstep. You’ll create lifelong memories for our Beavers. And when they’re ready, you’ll send them off to become courageous Cubs, eager to reach new heights on their journey with Scouts. We’re all about teamwork here at Scouts, and the beauty of volunteering in a team means there’s always someone who can help you out. A typical weekday session might look something like:

  • Chatting and collaborating with fellow volunteers and
    parents and carers.
  • Running adventurous activities and gleeful games
  • Helping and supporting young people

Fundraisers

Could you help to raise some funds to young people to carry on having adventures? That might be organising raffles, applying for funding or organising fund raising events.
