Last Tuesday, 16th Wigan celebrated another successful at their annual AGM and awards meeting. Following the formal agreement of accounts and constituations all 5 sections were the focus of presentations and awards.
The Squirrel section welcomed 16 members to 16th Wigan and presented them with their neckerchiefs. Beaver’s presented 2 new chief scout bronze awards, welcomed new members and presented badges. The cubs presented their year themselves and the scouts welcomed a new member along side 3 new chief scout gold award winners. The night was rounded off with the presentation of the first Steve Birchall Trophy, an award recognising kindness and scouting spirit as nominated by the young people themselves. Congratulations to Sam Gooch for being the first to receive this prize.
GLV Neil Tucker also asked for more adult involvement in the group including as leaders particularly for the younger sections as well as with fundraising.
